Why is a butterfly our mascot? 

Typically, the butterfly represents personal transformation. This is something I have been working towards and hopefully am achieving on a personal level. I also hope our readers will experience a transformative experience through our pages.

The significance of the butterfly highlights our capacity to travel from one state, perception and way of life to another. It is a symbol of lightness of being. The symbol of the butterfly is for people who strive to bring joy and ecstasy to their lives. The butterfly’s bright hues represent an opportunity to express yourself completely, to show your true colors.  In their short journey from crawling caterpillar to winged flying creature, butterflies are a metaphor for spiritual rebirth, change and hope. 

A butterfly is an insect that wraps itself up in a cocoon, turns into goo, then reappears as a completely different creature that floats and flutters, while wearing amazing colors, and goes on to live a whole new, yet brief, life.
